Black Sheep

After leaving Queens to relocate to North Carolina, Dres (born Andres Titus) met another accomplished hip-hop talent, Mista Lawnge. Once they returned to New York, the two incisive visionairies went on to form one of the greatest hip-hop duos of all time. Baclk Sheep.Together, they would create the most unforgettable and remarkable lyrical anthem to date.

In 1991, with fierce rhythm and a smooth style all their own, Black Sheep made their inventive debut with their phenominal hit song "Flavor of the Month". The prolific duo gained enourmous acclamation after releasing their anterior album, A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing; selling close to 900,000 copies to date. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA within six months of its release. It is observed and respected as one of the best hip-hop albums of all time. Their iconic song, "The Choice is Yours", became one of VH1's top 100 hip-hop songs of all time. The infectious hook, "you can get with this or you can get with that", along with the overall success of the album, catapulted Black Sheep's popularity. This popularity caught the attention of mainstream America, and soon Black sheep build their global omnipresence - most notably they became the first hip-hop act to appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The album also projected the group to become a member of the Native Tongues, which includes the Jungle Brothers, A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul. For many, the Native Tongues represents one of hip-hop's classic groups.
